Dunn County Republicans need you!
No one needs to tell you this has been a remarkable year in Wisconsin politics. Our courageous Governor, Scott Walker, took the difficult but necessary steps to balance the budget without raising taxes, and set Wisconsin on the right track of job creation and economic health. Our Republican Senators and Members of the Assembly also put Wisconsin ahead of their own political security and did the right thing by making the difficult votes in spite of vicious opposition and threats to self and family. They stood by their principles and fulfilled their campaign promises to cut spending, not raise taxes, reduce government and create a businessfriendly environment which will encourage business growth in Wisconsin.
But the difficulties are far from over. Democrats are in the process of collecting signatures to recall Governor Walker and other state Republican legislators. The year 2012 looks to be one of continual campaigns and elections. The Democrats are desperate to regain control and undo the progress made by our Republican legislators, so we can look forward to continuous nasty and vicious campaigns all year. Also, we must not overlook the 2012 presidential election which just may be the most critical in our nation’s history.
Your help is desperately needed here in Dunn County. Many volunteers are needed to assist candidates locally, staff the Republican Party of Dunn County (RPDC) Headquarters, put up signs, serve as poll watchers and much more. Our major expense for 2012 will be the cost of renting our Campaign Headquarters. As we saw in 2010, a highly visible location is a must to effectively promote our candidates. Your local HQ serves as the central location:
- To distribute campaign signs, candidate literature and election information
- For candidates to conduct campaign events in Dunn County
- To coordinate local campaign events and assist local volunteers
- To provide high visibility for the candidates and the party
Your membership and participation in the RPDC will assist these grassroots efforts here in Dunn County. Being active in the local party provides many opportunities for you to meet your candidates and legislators, and to be involved first-hand in their successful elections. If we value this precious democracy, created and passed on to us by our forefathers at great risk to life, liberty and property, we also must be willing to sacrifice our time and energies to preserve it.
